Healthcare Plans

The Federal Marketplace

๐ŸŸ  The Affordable Care Act (ACA) aims to provide accessible health insurance for everyone, regardless of pre-existing conditions.

๐ŸŸ  It created a marketplace where individuals and families can compare and purchase health insurance plans, often with subsidies.

๐ŸŸ  The ACA mandates that insurance plans cover preventive services, like vaccinations and screenings, at no extra cost.

State-Based Marketplace

๐ŸŸ  State-based marketplaces are created and operated by individual states under the Affordable Care Act (ACA) to provide residents with access to affordable health insurance.

๐ŸŸ  They allow individuals and families to compare, choose, and enroll in health insurance plansโ€”often with state or federal subsidies to help lower costs.

๐ŸŸ  Like the federal marketplace, plans offered through state marketplaces must cover essential health benefits and preventive services at no additional cost.

๐ŸŸ  Premium Tax Credits: These credits reduce the cost of your monthly premiums, making health insurance more affordable.

๐ŸŸ  Cost-Sharing Reductions: If you qualify for a silver plan, cost-sharing reductions can lower your out-of-pocket expenses, such as deductibles, copayments, and coinsurance

๐ŸŸ  Medicaid: If you meet specific income guidelines, you may qualify for Medicaid, which provides free or low-cost health coverage to eligible individuals and families.
